TRUMA COMBI 6 Error E 507 H, no heating
Truma heaters are pretty good I think - although I can only compare them to a 100 euro diesel heater. Clean, relatively quiet and somewhat economical - but troubleshooting a TRUMA gas heater can be a bitch.
We had multiple problems over the years:
- Error 507 for no obvious reason
- No error, no heating
- Error 507 cleared, error 507 re-appeared
Error 507 for no obvious reason
We had this problem directly after we purchased our RV, everything brand-new. The manual doesn't help, the company selling us the van is utterly useless. Anyhow - the reason was, the crash sensor was engaged. Newer TRUMA models have an optional "crash sensor" which allows you to drive with the bottles "open". In case of a crash, the crash sensor essentially locks the gas-flow. This sensor sits directly above the bottle. The solution steps for us where as follows:
- Error “E 507 H” appears.
- Verify other appliances work, verify you have gas & pressure. Essentially nothing should work, however the gas burner in the kitchen uses very little gas - so this may still work for a while. (Gas in the hose)
- Check the Truma crash sensor (!) Here is the key in my case.
- Once push the “crash sensor button”. Avoid to push this button un-necessarily, I’ve been told it’s very sensitive and as long you don’t really need to - don’t stress this button.
- After pressing the crash sensor button WAIT 15 MINUTES (This is an internal timer of the TRUMA system)
- 15 minutes over? Start to fire up your heating again.
No error, no heating
Most likely the gas pressure is at the level where the heater sensor tells it, it has enough pressure, but it has not. The cooking stove will likely work without problems. It's always good to have a second bottle, even if it's a smaller 5kg or 3kg one for backup.
Error 507 cleared, error 507 re-appeared
- If this fails still, it is possible to engage a "main reset" of the TRUMA itself. It's not very easy to access, but it can be done "on the road" with a few very basic tools. We want to press the RESET button on the PCB board (hold it for 5-10 seconds, the blinking will show you once it’s reset), press the crash sensor button, wait again 15 minutes, try again. For us, the TRUMA main unit is beneath a seat inside the van. to remove the plastic cover I needed a screwdriver to push in the plastic latch. A pair of needle-nose pliers is helpful, but not required.
- Besides this brown cable, is a button.
